The Abandoned Art School in AlUla / Saudi Arabia 2024
During the last day of my trip to Alula in Saudi Arabia, I decided to stray off the beaten path, into the more hidden side streets of Alula. I saw a slightly closed door leading into what looked like an abandoned building.
Beautiful architecture, faded colours decayed over time. Decided to chance it, and entered. And what a surprise, it turned out to be an old artschool, now abandoned, some drawings still hanging there , dusty paint on the walls. And a beautiful drawing of a palm tree on the chalkboard.
I guess walked around for about an hour, turning every corner, staircase through old doors, room by room, finally ending at the rooftop, with a spectacular view of the mountains, in contrast to this decayed dusty universe of a building.
